Private Pilot
Total Time: 40 hours flying minimum which consists of at least:
Dual: 20 hours minimum of flight training with a Pilot Place instructor on Private Pilot areas of operation.
Solo: 10 hours minimum of solo flying in a single engine airplane on the Private Pilot areas of operation.

Instrument Pilot
According to FAA Part 61 regulation, a pilot must fly at least 40 hours in an instrument-rated aircraft to apply for an instrument rating.
- A pilot must have a current private pilot license before applying for an instrument rating;
- A private pilot must receive at least 15 hours of instrument rating instruction from a Pilot Place CFII;
- Apart from instrument instruction, a pilot must have logged at least 50 hours of cross country time as PIC.
- An instrument rating trainee must fly one cross country flight at least 250 nautical miles along airways and air traffic directed routes.
- Practice three different kinds of approaches using the navigation systems.

Commercial Pilot
For an airplane singe-engine commercial rating, a person who applies for a commercial pilot certificate must log at least 250 hours of flight time as a pilot.
- 100 hours of which must be in powered aircraft, and 50 must be in airplanes.
- 100 hours of pilot-in-command time, 50 of which must be in airplanes.
- 50 hours of cross-country time, 10 of which must be in an airplane.
- 20 hours of training, including 10 of instrument, 10 of complex or TAA, and a smattering of cross-country and practical test preparation.
- 10 hours of solo training, including a smattering of cross-country and night.

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
Hold either a commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate
Log at least 15 hours as pilot in command in the category and class of aircraft that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought
Pass a knowledge test on the aeronautical knowledge areas
Receive a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor on the fundamentals of instructing
Pass the required practical test that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought
